The Accelerated Graduate Program is for UMBC undergraduates who make their intentions known to both their undergraduate advisor and the appropriate graduate program director, usually in their junior year.
A major advantage of this program is that it enables students to double count credits toward both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees – while still paying undergraduate tuition rates. Usually the student can double count nine (9) credits, but please refer to the individual graduate program for specific information regarding the number of credits allowed and its application procedure. If admitted to the Accelerated Program, the student follows a prescribed course of study in which a predetermined number of credits at the 600 level or higher may be taken as an undergraduate and also counted later toward their master’s degree.
Both the student’s undergraduate advisor and the program director for the graduate program in which they are applying will need to approve the application.
Refer to the links below for information and application forms related to CSEE’s Accelerated Bachelor/Masters’ Programs and/or contact the respective program director with any questions.
