Computer Engineering undergrad Xavier Smith wins award

He presented research he had done in the summer of 2022 as part of the Amgen Scholars Program at the University of California, Berkeley. His research explored applications of the magnetogenetics technique, called FeRIC, or Ferritin-Iron Redistribution to Ion Channels, to control synaptic transmission and neurotransmitter release / neuron excitability in rat hippocampal glial cells.
